Originally known as THE POCKETS, SAGA formed in 1977 from the nucleus of popular Canadian rock act FLUDD. In June 1978, the band released its self-titled debut album, selling over 30,000 copies in Germany as an import. The follow-ups 'Images at Twilight' and 'Silent Knight' established SAGA as one of the most distinctive players in the genre of Progressive rock with a sound especially defined by Jim Gilmour's keyboard arrangements, the crunchy guitar riffs of Ian Crichton and, of course, the unique voice of Michael Sadler. The perfectly balanced, both melodic and sophisticated SAGA songwriting became an established trademark. In 1981, the band's 4th release 'Worlds Apart' provided the final breakthrough while the singles 'Wind Him Up' and 'On The Loose' broke them into the American and Cabadian sales charts. And the rest is history... Today, SAGA and Michael Sadler, who left the band for a few years, are reunited and experiencing the second spring of their career, having released an inpsired new album called 'Sagacity' in 2014 and playing sold out shows all around the world.

To their fans and our huge surprise, SAGA have announced the end of their career now after finishing this year's tour. That's why we've decided to invite them one more time to Seebronn in spite of the fact that the band was part of our line up in 2016 already. Look forward to an outstanding and exclusive farewell show, that will presumably be the last open air appearance of SAGA in Germany ever, featuring all their greatest hits.To honour this very special occasion, the band will be our headlining act on Saturday.
